To qualify as a true coffee achiever these days, you can't just drink
coffee all day at work. No. The coffee has to be your work.
You've got to care about the coffee beans, as if they had actual
feelings; understand the delicate chemistry of exotic brews; and be
able to craft a perfectly balanced cup with professionalism and
flair. And it doesn't hurt to have a goatee and a slightly obsessive-
compulsive personality, especially if you want to make it to the
United States Barista Championship, coming this May in Long Beach,
Calif.

For the past weeks, i have been immersed as a full time all around barista- manager. Long days from 6am til closing at 12 midnight would be a day to day routine. Lost sleep. Lost selfish time for self--that even sundays, you need to fake up a smile to serve that best coffee in town.
Add to that is an Event-- yet this time, i'm the sponsor. Yes the tables have turned. We sponsored a student event at UST on going for the next 2 days. I was recalling how sponsors would be during my student event days, i would have been a 'pond's' wo wouldnt really give in at once.. i could have been that mataray person who would scrutinize each and every sponsor package. But no, since they were students, with Dominican priests on tow for admin, i tried to understand why we were not accommodated pretty well. Maybe the cross between my cafe management and events management could really handle the heat & chaos.

Moving on.. or not.
It is seldom to be able to go back to a certain golden age of being a barista. After so much sweat and coffee grinds in UST, The PAA (Pierre, Armi, Anj) went to the Baker's fair in World Trade. It was amazing. Saw our familiar suppliers, and even saw or famous trainor Sir Henry! Oh, those hu
mble beginnings of Banawe!
Since we were in the area, We headed to MOA for dinner! And Khemer was on duty too at Baang.:) so it was a reunion of sort.

It was great seeing the pioneer team! it was funny that we even had our "theme song" played :) "Quando Quando!"
It was great remembering those great days at the Beanery, more so seeing where these people are now.
Wag nyo akong kalimutan pag mayayaman na kayo! and as khemer says--- ayusin na natin buhay natin!:D
