taken from BBC:
A bitter war of words has erupted among EU states after the failure to reach an agreement on the union's future budget.
JEAN-CLAUDE JUNCKER, LUXEMBOURG PRIME MINISTER
People will tell you that Europe is not in a crisis - it is a profound crisis... I am sad and ashamed to a certain extent. I am ashamed by some of what I heard. ![]()
Personally, I deplore the fact that Britain refused to pay a fair and reasonable share of the cost of enlargement... It is pathetic and tragic. ![]()
I'm not prepared to have someone tell me there is only one view of what Europe is. Europe isn't owned by any of them, Europe is owned by all of us. ![]()
If people are caught up for 36 hours in a soulless building in Brussels, tempers are going to fray... It is in many ways a sad day for Europe. But out of this sad day there is an opportunity to reconnect. ![]()
This is one of the gravest crises Europe has ever experienced... An agreement failed because of the completely stubborn attitudes of the UK and the Netherlands. ![]()
[Tony Blair] is a world politician and, on top of that, a world politician who has succeeded in being re-elected recently, in contrast to some other of the union's leaders... I would guess that Blair's position will be strengthened. ![]()
This is not good. The meeting was bad. Relations were bad. It was very hostile, even bitter... I don't like to see grown men bickering. ![]()
I don't think this debate is negative, it is enriching. ![]()
AND CAN I JUST SAY I LOVE THE SWEEDS?!
The EU does not exist only for the benefit of the UK ![]()
so to all euroskeptics out there, i do hope you'll give the EU a chance. because honestly, i believe in the EU like how i believe in the UN. :)
