Bride post.

So it has been almost 5 months of engagement.. and i have to say that 5 months went on so quickly!  People were all saying when we announced our engagement that the date we chose, January 4, 2014... (1-4-14) was too far! But for pierre and i we felt it was just right. Heck, we even wanted a may 2014 wedding!

So with all these wedding preparations, i continuously bump into one of bridal blogs that talk about their preparations. For some, i can relate, yet for most i just couldn't. But what the heck, i guess it's all about having a keepsake. Though i have my own bridal diary (As suggested to me by my Maid of Honor, Jemma,  to have), maybe it would also be nice to have some sort of online remembrance. (Check it out, this blog has been up since 2004!!!)

So, first things first, the date: January 4, 2014. 1-4-14. Beyond the significance of 14 in our relationship. This date is also my lolo tony's supposed 95th birthday. We wanted to start the year right and we're doing it by getting married! Also, Pierre proposed to me on his birthday which also falls on the wedding anniversary of his grand parents-- hence, we're just keeping family dates into the loop.

the church: Mary the Queen.  :) My parents got married here TWICE! first in december 17, 1977 and in December 17, 2002 (their silver wedding anniversary). my mom got married when she turned 25 (yes, it was also her birthday).. while i am going to get married at the age of 30. later did i know that pierre's parents also got married in Mary the Queen in June 27, 1977.. same year as my folks! :) To add, pierre and i enjoy hearing mass in MTQ. Besides the fact that it is beside his alma mater, it's managed my the Jesuits-- making homilies bearable and memorable. On on rare sunday some time in 2008, we were approached to do the offertory.. and that made things more stable for us. Our relationship was built on once a week dates (blame it to restaurant service career with 6 day work weeks!), hearing mass and actually being able to have time together was a rare gem.

the reception venue: Enderun. To most, Enderun is a culinary school. So, if you know Anj and Pierre, this already in itself makes sense. It took us a while before finalizing a venue. With the fact that everyone is expecting a foodie wedding, we knew that we could not compromise with the food. Pierre's brother, Paul (ok, best brother Paul : ) )suggested that we look into Enderun. I was still in my European Sojourn when Pierre told me about this suggestion and instantly i checked it out on the internet and emailed the contact  listed on the website. In less that 2 hours, i got a reply from them with all the questions i had in mind answered. We went for an ocular and we were thrilled to see that they are building a new events venue that actually fit the theme we were thinking of. Eventually, things fell into place especially when they agreed that they could tweak things around with the menu with Pierre's own recipes :)

so i guess i have to discuss the theme since i mentioned it.  Think about sunflowers. and that's the only things I'm going to say. :D But sunflowers always have that happy vibe. they are happy flowers. so, why not have them on the day i look forward to be my happiest!:D

maybe this is all for now, but i have a wedding website in the works.. mainly for rsvp :D
