Ev'ry end of the year, i try to recall all the things that i've gone thru. Definitely this year is one up down road that i had yet to travel. this post is probably one of those.
We cried after gradution, when they started playing the Song for Mary, i knew that we would never be gathered that way again: young, giddy with success, full of hope, surrounded by love ones.
As sure as the wave needs to be near the shore, at this point of our lives, we've all snowballed into different directions and generally know nothing more of each other. Though there were days of really holding on to what we had of those glorious 4 years, we all had to face the music that we had to grow apart to grow up. Though, this growing apart never ceased our continous contact with each other--thank you to yahoo, gmail, ym, sun, globe and smart for sponsoring our connections. Nice Tioco, one of the first who landed on a job that up to this point i knwo she's still interest at. Anton Conejos (RABBIT!!) is now a soon to be lawyer. Kai de la crus, though she was left for one more semester, she's already taking her reviews for he NMAT. Valeri Floro is now a coporate trainer to all the colours of the world both kids and adults in THAILAND. Niko Frez, now a credit analyst cum Model in Security Bank. Anya Carlos, living her workaday world in a circus juggling all togehter her scadalizing love life and career. Jig Gancayco, though from the other school, but still blue all over, just finished his last semester and plans to take up another degree to become a CPA. Barbie Co, though she had struggles of what she wanted to do after college, she's now enjoying the time of her life in Angers, France-- studying and partying liek crazy, yes i guess she's the only one who got something out of our own course. And i? I ended up as an owner-operator of a coffee shop ready to scream her heart out when pushed to the edge(which is like almost always).
I remember a post i wrote about us finally getting to our dreams. how we'd all meet up at the hotel of pennisula manila in makati to have coffee or ice cream. THough that dream will still come true i know as how we are all in now. But all these made me realize that as much as how fun college was, these people just passes thru you-- as how orcom passed through me the other year. Though i know that nice, anton, kai, val, frey, anya, jig and barbie passed thru me like longer and more firm in my life. These are people who walked with me on certain roads i took. and i walked with them with theirs. Now, we've taken the paths we've chosen and deal with them with no U-turns. some does a detour but eventually gets there... Yet at the end of the day, the same old kadiri gang is there-- pestering uncle fester, laughing, having long conversations over coffee/tea, talking about food while eating....
so for my beloved kadiri gang, who i miss so dearly. here's a song for all of us. I miss you guys so much!!
Habulan by SOUND
ganito pala ang mundo
matulin ang takbo
laging naghahabol sa pangako
bilisan, bawat hakbang
nahihilo
isang ulila sa gitna nitong gulo
sari-saring damdamin
halu-halong hangarin
naghahabulan
tagumpay nalumbay
sa kamay ng kapalaran
o taya ka na naman
takbo, takbo, sana'y makarating
sa wakas ng pagkatuliro
sa pag-ikot nitong daigdig
habol nang habol
pagkakataon di palalagpasin
di magpapahuli kahit sandali
huwag na sana maiwan muli
bilisan, bawat hakbang
may dalang pag-alinlangan
papunta, pabalik
nagbibilang ng saglit, heto na
ba't lagi pang natataya?
manipis ang silip ng buwan
di namamasdan
ang paglipas ng oras
nangangapa pa rin sa dilim
habol nang habol
sana'y makarating
