frozen zestos, ham and egg sandwiches and melted candle wax

today's all saints' day (do i sound like a manila bull. head line? "nation celebrates all saints' day!")

i was telling my mom and acky that it seems that november 1 has changed since we were kids. where's the magandang gabi bayan halloween special? where's the scarry movies or those that made me cry back then? not to mention nightmares at that!

as a child we go to the cavite cemetery. we'd be greeted by "big chicken" first before we actually get into the cavite highway.. upon entering the cemetery we would go around the cemetery, get lost until we get to the right spot. i remember how festive it seemed. we had frozen zest.o juices for refreshments accompanied by ham and egg sandwiches and my pop's peculiar jokes on erap (oohh gone were the days...).....

we'd go home for lunch then have our siesta then go to La loma. i remember we would be greeted by a herd of peopel because on the netrance on la loma is the family of herbert bautista. staying in la loma would included the "hiiii!" and "byee" as we all try to imitate tita linda, talks on trip to bicol (hay, natuloy na ah!), adding a roof to the lot, the inscesant"we usaully eat adobo when we go here as kids" and of course the usual computation on how old could lola-lola and lolo-lolo could be... oh did i mention how tita bonet would also make kwento about her bday is the same as the death of lola-lola? and yah, how tita emy got lost in the cemetery when she was a kid...One time my pop dared me and my siblings to get lost around the cemetery and get lost then find or way back to the cemetery lot we'd stay. ... things we do.. hahaha..

sigh.. i miss those frozen zest.o!!
